Slowly Changing Dimension in a scenario is normally determined by field or a Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 field concerned. In a Type 1 record is overwritten with the new value in a type 2, a new record is created and a type 3 the old value stored as an additional column in the dimension. Why not treat everything as Type 2?
